The end of hashtags - it isn't a hash

Stowe Boyd wrote about hashtags on December 18, 2007.

Why should you care? Because Stowe Boyd previously wrote about hashtags (although they were then called "beacons") way back on October 19, 2006.

Here's part of what he said about the evolution of hashtags (via hashtags.org - see my earlier post) in his post of yesterday:

They have ignored my multi word convention, where #san francisco# would be used, and have gone with the easier-to-implement but uglier-to-read approach of #san+francisco.

Of course, hashtags.org hasn't been tested with a San Diego fire-like event yet. As of now, the most updated hashtag is...#hashtags.
