A non-Linux platform for Oracle Database 11g

Just read the tweet.

The Oracle Database software downloads page now lists three platforms for Oracle Database 11g:

You'll recall that non-availability for Windows was discussed in this blog back on August 14. So it took a little over two months to release the software on the Windows platform - a little longer than for previous releases, but within the range.

The System Z community may still have to wait until after Oracle OpenWorld 2007, however. But it looks like at least some Oracle Database 11g users will be happy next month.
