Beyond McBama - Revisiting Chuck Baldwin and Bob Barr

Over a month ago, I wrote a post in the "Beyond McBama" series.

It was the first post in my well-publicized "Beyond McBama" series.

It was the first of two posts in this series. The second one was written back on July 18, and I haven't written any since.

Oh well, there's still time before the election.

Actually, that first post resulted in several comments, one of which urged me to look at Chuck Baldwin (arguing that Barr was close in philosophy to Ron Paul). Between this comment and another one focusing on Bob Barr, I got URLs to three websites.

http://www.barrroot08.com/ and http://www.barrpaul08.com/ are two different front-ends at the site http://www.mccanes.com/ ("Is McCain to (sic) old to be President?"). Yet surprisingly, the "Barr Paul" site doesn't mention Paul's age. But the "Barr Root" site has a lot to say about Wayne Root:

"WHAT I THOUGHT OF WAYNE ROOT
THE FIRST TIME I SAW HIM"
BY BARRROOT.COM EDITOR

I JUST WANTED TO SAY A FEW WORDS ABOUT WAYNE ROOT. JUST MY PERSONAL
FEELINGS. FIRST TIME I SAW WAYNE ROOT WAS AT THE LP CONVENTION. WATCHING HIM
SPEAK I WAS CERTAIN HE HAD A.D.D, AND MAYBE HE WAS EVEN A LITTLE CRAZY. HE
STARTED OUT BY CALLING HIMSELF A SOB?? LATER EXPLAINING HE WAS REFERRING TO
BEING THE SON OF A BUTCHER. SOON AFTER IN THE SPEECH HE EXPLAINED HOW HE WAS A
GAMBLER AND AN ODDS MAKER FROM VEGAS.

AT THIS POINT I COULDN'T HELP BUT THINK HE COULDN'T BE SERIOUS ABOUT RUNNING FOR
PRESIDENT. IN WAYNE'S DEFENSE HE DID MAKE SEVERAL GOOD POINTS, IF I COULD GET
PASSED THE FACT THAT HE REMINDED ME OF THE LAST GUY WHO SOLD ME A USED CAR. OR
IF I COULD GET PAST THE FACT THAT I DON'T THINK I COULD EVER TRUST SOMEONE WHO
MAKES THEIR LIVING IN VEGAS. ALL THAT ASIDE I TRIED TO GIVE HIM THE BENEFIT OF THE
DOUBT AND SAT AND LISTENED OPEN MINDED. LOOKING BACK THOUGH MAYBE I SHOULD
NOT OF OPEN MY MIND UP TO THIS GUY, HIS VOICE SENT MY HEAD INTO MIGRAINES. IN THE
MIDDLE OF THE SPEECH I THREW UP A LITTLE IN MY MOUTH, THEN RAN TO THE BATHROOM
AND HEAVED FOR A FEW MINUTES. ONLY TO MAKE IT BACK IN FRONT OF THE TV IN TIME
ENOUGH TO HEAR WAYNE SAY, "IF YOU THINK I HAVE MORE ENERGY THEN ANY ONE ON THIS
STAGE RAISE YOUR HAND" OF COURSE SPEAKING TO
THE AUDIENCE. THIS MADE ME SPONTANEOUSLY HURL AGAIN RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE TV.
RIGHT IN THE FLOOR. I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TIME TO THINK ABOUT GOING TO THE BATHROOM.
A FEW DAYS LATER. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO RECOVER FROM THE TRAUMA. I DECIDED TO
WATCH SOME VIDEOS ON WAYNE ROOT ON YOU TUBE. AFTER WATCHING THEM AND GIVING
HIM A CHANCE. I GUESS HES NOT SO BAD AFTER ALL. I CANT DISLIKE ANY GUY WHO HAS A
GERMAN SHEPARD, OR IS MAN ENOUGH TO STAND ON TOP OF HIS HUMMER. YEAH MAYBE HE
IS A LITTLE HOKEY, AND MAYBE HE DOES SEEM LIKE A USED CAR SALESMAN. BUT HIS IDEAS
MAKE UP FOR SOME OF THIS. I SUGGEST WATCHING VIDEOS OF WAYNE ROOT, TO GET TO
KNOW HIM A LITTLE BETTER. YOU MAY GET SICK TO YOUR STOMACH, BUT PUSH THROUGH.
YOU MIGHT JUST FIND A DIAMOND BEHIND THAT SHITTY GRIN.

http://baldwin2008.com/ talks about the threat of the New World Order, and also links to a post that complains about the leftist tendencies of John McCain and Mitt Romney. I know that many in my social media circles don't think of McCain or Romney as dangerous leftists, but Mary Starrett does.

The FRC’s Values Voters Summit, billed as the “largest gathering of values voters from across the nation”, is sponsored by FRCAction, the legislative arm of the Family Research Council headed by Tony Perkins, and Focus on the Family, led by Dr. James Dobson (who has alternately said he “will never vote for McCain” and recently that he likely will vote for the man who spearheaded the most egregious assault on the 1st Amendment in recent history- the McCain Feingold Campaign Finance Reform Act, author John McCain).

I asked FRCAction why Chuck Baldwin couldn’t join in at the Summit, since he is the only authentically pro-life, pro- 2nd Amendment , pro-Constitution, pro-secure borders candidate from a FEC- recognized party who is running for president.

Apparently the folks at the Family Research Council either had not done their research or chose to ignore that one of the speakers they have headlining their conference, Senator Barrack Obama, supported infanticide, and the other speakers like Mitt Romney and John McCain are anything but representative of pro-life “values” voters....

FRC is apparently not concerned enough about its tax-exempt status to include all the candidates. The organization furthers the myth that our Republic was designed for a two party system. The FRC refuses to acknowledge there’s not a dime’s worth of difference between the two parties now controlling government. The FRC adheres to a paradigm that concludes that any crumbs tossed from those parties that control our government are worthy of being gobbled up by donation-seeking advocacy groups, just for a seat at the table- anybody’s table…. even those who promulgate evil.
