After that, most of the world will be *AGAINST* L.A.

I heard the radio commercials, which basically said that if you listen to our song, you'll want to check out our television newscast!

Unfortunately, they apparently couldn't get anyone of Randy Newman's caliber to work for Los Angeles television station KNBC Channel 4.

So instead we get this.

Doesn't that just make you want to rush out that watch a local newscast? Heck, I've drunk the El-Lay Kool-Aid for a quarter century, and it doesn't necessarily motivate me to see what Paul Moyer and Colleen Williams are talking about tonight.

But Mike from Franklin Avenue thinks different (sorry, Randy Newman put me in an Apple frame of mind):

I admit it: I'm a geek for this kind of stuff. Local TV promos, complete with cheesy song, video of anchors mugging in front of the camera, and feel-good shots of home. Ahh, the hallmarks of the perfect local station campaign. We haven't seen much of it lately -- well, other than KTLA's recent hip-hop entry. So kudos to KNBC for bringing the form back, with its recent "We're 4 L.A." spot....
