Two views on Jay Leno

Another two view post. Twice the fun at the same price, I guess.

Eye of Polyphemus corrected an earlier statement about Jay Leno and his writers:

I wrote in an offhand comment yesterday that Jay Leno firing laid off The Tonight Show staff members ought not be construed as evidence the WGA strike will be prolonged or end soon, for that matter. There needs to be some clarification there. First and foremost, NBC fired the staffers who were employees of the network. They were fired on Friday. Second, Leno’s representatives were calling the staffers on Saturday to assure them they would continue to get paid out of Leno’s own pocket even though he was never responsible for their salaries at any point.

And there's more about the nice guy. In Micro Persuasion, Steve Rubel derives lessons for online success by monitoring the career of Jay Leno. Here are the bullet points:

1) Be incredibly focused on delivering a quality product....

2) Talent is never enough. It takes a champion work ethic and passion to succeed....

3) Be a man or woman of the people....

4) Have something to sell, but also let others sell on your stage....

5) Stay a little bit paranoid and push your comfort zone....
