Spectator Sports Church

I haven't talked about Sports Church in a while. But Pastor Kevin Austin mentions another type of sport - spectator sport - in his daily blog post.

I think for a lot of people, we like to view Christianity as a spectator sport. We are scared to get out there and play the game ourselves but we absolutely love watching other people doing. We love the [camraderie] and the feeling that we get from watching but we see it as a spectator sport. In [I Peter 1:13], Peter is calling us, all of us, to get out of the stand and come play. Peter says "preparing your minds for action" not preparing your minds to watch.
