The long-awaited "I surf to school" post

This gets me to a pet peeve that's even better than Rita Moreno of Arte. Some clueless spammer created a page with this title:

Ontario CA Ocean Front Property

Perhaps after an earthquake, but not today.

Yet the real estate industry's reputation for truthfulness is not enhanced when Century 21 Beachside has so many offices that are nowhere near a beach.

Brea Office
3000 E. Imperial Highway
Suite #100
Brea, CA 92821

Chino Hills Office
4197 Chino Hills Parkway
Chino Hills, CA 91709

Rancho Cucamonga Office
10535 Foothill Blvd.
Suite #150
Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730-3857

Upland Office
400 N. Mountain Ave.
Suite #121
Upland, CA 91786-5177

Whittier Office
15820 Whittier Blvd.
Whittier, CA 90603-2573

That's more than half of Century 21 "Beachside's" offices. And frankly, I doubt that any of the other ones are on the beach either.

But people from outside of California get confused anyway.

Have I told the story of our church youth group going to the 2004 National Youth Gathering in Orlando? (Actually I did, in a comment in Annika's blog, but you probably didn't see it.) Bear in mind that the church is based in Rancho Cucamonga, which is probably fifty miles from the ocean. Yet our youth were asked about surfing so many times that one of them finally wrote "I surf to school" on his Lutheran-issued backpack. Which basically meant that he would have surfed down Cucamonga Creek, which wouldn't have been so rad, d00d.
