Parrot Heads of the Triad

I was trying to think of a cute title for this post, but I couldn't. I'll take suggestions in the comments.

You may recall that I wrote about Parrot Heads in a previous post. (See a subsequent related Red Stick Rant post here.)

One of the organizations mentioned in the prior post was the Parrot Heads of the Triad. Here's a little more information about their purpose.

The Parrot Heads of the Triad is a regional group of Parrot Heads belonging to the national organization, Parrot Heads in Paradise. PHIP consists of over 200 member clubs (and growing all the time!) in the U.S., Canada, and Australia. The clubs provide a network for like-minded Parrot Heads to enjoy each other’s company, keep current on Buffett’s work, and sponsor or participate in events that benefit charities which touch the lives of Parrot Heads, their families, and the whole community of life here on this big round ball.

You don’t have to drink to be a Parrot Head. Some of us do, but that’s not what it is about. It’s about being with old friends and meeting new ones. It’s about relaxing and taking in the wonderful world around us. It’s about getting off our cans and doing a little work to help those that aren't as fortunate as we are. It’s about listening to the words of a song that mean something to you and not letting your dreams fade away.

You? Unable to come up with a catchy post title? Must be having a bad day there, bud. Let me help:

"Son of a Son of a Gun (Don't These People Have Lives?!?)"

or

"Why Don't We Get Together, and Do"

I have a general unfamiliarity with Mr. Buffett's work, and can only think of two songs of his. ("Cheeseburger in Paradise" is the other.)

Trust me. If you knew his work, they're hysterical.

Modestly yours,
