More on freeway updates - the 10, the 210, and the 57 and modern avoidance

Followup to my earlier post about KLAC's repeated use of the old "10, 210, and 57 freeways" phrase. They're not the only ones doing it.

It's ingrained in the minds of anyone and everyone who has lived in Southern California for years and years.

It's ingrained in answers.com, even though the source Wikipedia article has since been corrected (on June 2):

The San Dimas Raging Waters is located where the 10, 210, and 57 freeways meet. It is Southern California's largest water park and has had great success due to its accessibility, being adjacent to three interstate freeways.

(Technically, state route 57 is not an interstate. The anonymous Wikipedia editor corrected that also.)

And it's not just Raging Waters fans that have outdated information. Take the California Horse Racing Board, and their comments on the location of Los Angeles County Fair horse races:

Conveniently located where the 10, 210 and 57 freeways meet approximately 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles and 10 miles west of Ontario International Airport. Two blocks north of the San Bernardino Freeway (10) accessible from Fairplex Drive, White Avenue or Garey Avenue freeway exits.

Incidentally, this is why I'm not worried about Big Brother coming in and taking away all my freedoms. Big Brother is too stupid to do so. Trust me, government agencies can't cooperate with each other. The California Horse Racing Board is a government agency, but apparently they're not paying attention to what other government agencies are doing.

Kurumi knows:

I-210 is currently being rerouted and extended to I-10 in Redlands. The short north-south segment between Glendora (the "elbow") and I-10 near Pomona has already been redesignated as a northern extension of CA 57....

Interstate 210 will be extended almost 30 miles to I-10 in Redlands, east of San Bernardino, I-15, and I-215. About half of the new highway is open to traffic and marked CA 210. The extension will probably be designated I-210, but not until all segments are complete (in 2007).

And, for the record, Raging Waters knows also:

Raging Waters is located in San Dimas approximately 20 minutes from the Anaheim/Disneyland area and 30 minutes from downtown Los Angeles.
