Over the wire:
MONTEREY PARK, CA -- Lee Baca, Sheriff of Los Angeles County, California, today demanded that convicted murderer Charles Manson be reassigned from prison to home confinement.
"I am concerned about the mental health of individuals," Baca said. "I demanded the reassignment of Paris Hilton because I knew that our County's medical facilities are just not equipped to deal with all types of mental illness."
Baca continued, "But Hilton is not the only one suffering behind bars. Take Charles Manson. The guy put a swastika on his forehead. Can you expect bureaucratic shrinks to deal with that? The dude's crazy. We need to release - reassign him."
State officials had no comment on Baca's demands.
(And no, this is not a real story. I don't think.)

Greetings to all who got here from Technorati (A possible trendsetter for the incarcerated). As we know now, Baca wasn't able to free Hilton, so maybe he can work on Manson, or wait for Nicole Richie.
