No, I didn't get a scoop

Pride goeth before a shopping mall, or something like that.

I thought I was the first person to make the link between Armor Holdings, Inc. and Don Bolles' recent unpleasantness.

But Strange Reaction made the link right away, back on April 17, after quoting the April 17 statement from the Bronner family.

ODV, Inc is a subsidiary of Armor Holdings, Inc.

OK, so perhaps I'm the second one to note the link. But the major media hasn't gotten it yet.

It's interesting to see how this story has evolved. In this case, it's been emerging from a combination of sources, including traditional media (most notably the Los Angeles Times) and non-traditional sources (MySpace, Velvet Rope, etc.).

So when you're asked the question or whether to rely on bloggers or on traditional media, remember that it's not an either/or question. Both sources can work together to bring out the best (or worst) in a story.

Otherwise, Ron Franscell wouldn't bother to blog.
