How to know when your fame has gone mainstream

OK, Beverley Mitchell has been known for years as the good girl on 7th Heaven. And she's recently been known as a country singing star (don't know that she's a country singing sensation yet).

But, in an effort to broaden her fan base, she has published...a recipe.

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups flour
¾ cup plus 1 tbsp. shortening
¼ tsp. salt
5 tbsp. very cold water
1/8 cup flour
2 tbsp. softened butter
½ cup sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon

PREPARATION:

Mix flour, shortening, salt and water until blended well.
Dust counter with flour and roll out the dough to ¼-inch thickness.
Spread softened butter over the dough.
Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over the dough.
Roll the dough into a tube, and cut into slices.
Bake at 375° for 20–30 minutes, checking to make sure the bottoms don’t burn.
Remove from cookie sheet immediately and cool on racks.
Makes 24 cookies

You know what's scary? All of the presidential candidates are going to have to do this now. Ginger Snaps Obama, anyone?
