Jason Poyadou grieves, and a MySpace account remains unused (more on Andre Jenkins)

You'll recall that Steven Hodson of the Inquisitr made me aware of the story of the late Andre Jenkins, and that I subsequently wrote a post about him.

While nosing around the tubes, I found this Facebook wall, created by Jason Poyadou. The name of this group is "In Memory of Andre Jenkins."

This group is dedicated to the Memory of Andre Jenkins, my nephew. Only 5 months old, Andre was murdered by the babysitter after she placed him in the DRYER on September 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m.

The wall includes several photos of Andre (you probably figured this out, but the photo that accompanied the Inquisitr post is not a photo of Andre), and a note about a fund set up for Andre's family. I have no idea if the fund is still active, since some of the information is dated. (The September 17, 2008 funeral is spoken of as a future event, for example.)

The wall itself contains a number of heartfelt sympathetic notes from various people who were touched by the story. One exception - at the time I viewed the wall, someone had posted an anti-black rant ("why would white parents leave their child with a ...?"), but if Jason keeps to his moderation policy, it should be gone by the time you view the wall. I hope.

And there's a MySpace profile that could be the profile of the killer. The woman is named Ari, she's (now) 19 years old, she's from Harvey, Louisiana...and she hasn't logged in since September 9, 2008. Luckily for her, her profile is set to private.

H/T for both of these items from the commenters of People You'll See in Hell, a site from which I previously quoted. The page also includes a comment from a woman who purports to be a deputy at the JPCC. She contributed a couple of comments. Here's an excerpt from one of them (obviously, I don't know if this person is truly a deputy, and if she is, she obviously can't reveal her identity if she wants to keep her job):

ARIELLE SMITH IS IN THE JPCC IN ISOLATION TANK 2-1. I AM A DEPUTY AT THE JPCC, AND I’VE BEEN WATCHING HER IN THE ISO FOR A FEW WEEKS NOW. SHE PLAYS CRAZY, BUT EVERYONE KNOWS SHE IS FAKING IT. SHE SHIVERS AND SHAKES, AND REFUSES TO EAT OR SHOWER, BUT IT’S ALL AN ACT.

Then again, she might have been placed in the isolation tank for her own protection.

P.S. You may have seen me wondering about the woman who drowned her own children. That woman was Andrea Yates. Originally convicted in 2002 for the deaths of the children, the conviction was later overturned (due to errant testimony by an expert witness) and Yates was found not guilty by reason of insanity.
