Once upon a time, a relatively unknown politician came to a major political party convention and gave a speech.
And oh, what a speech.
The members of the major political party said that the politician had given the speech of a lifetime, and that the politician's ability to lead the nation was proven.
The opposing party ridiculed the politician, saying that the ability to give a good speech was just that - the ability to give a good speech - and that the politician was woefully inexperienced and clearly unfit to lead the nation.
Well, now it's happened twice - at the Democratic Convention in 2004 with Obama, and at the Republican Convention in 2008 with Palin.
Now that several news organizations are literally calling Sarah Palin a "star," will the Obamans get jealous that the spotlight has turned away from them? Or will they attack on substance, comparing Sarah Palin to the Paris Hiltons and Britney Spearses of the world?
