On Twitter Etiquette

I check and on occasion to see what they're saying.

After reading a commenter at who noted that @ronpaul2008 doesn't follow anybody (with the implication that Paul's campaign doesn't "care" about Twitter), I got to thinking...about Obama, who follows thousands of people.

Question: if you were to compare the Twitter feeds of the two candidates (without looking at follower/followee statistics), could you tell any difference? In my view, both are generic announcement services - somewhat informative, but not interactive.

I should try an experiment and send @ tweets to both candidates and see what happens.

I'm not being intentionally harsh - both candidates get potential for showing up - but I just think that there's so much potential in the technology, and both campaigns are passing up the opportunity.
