Sorry, right number

For purposes of this post, suffice it to say that Truemors is a service that allows input in a variety of ways. One of these ways is to call a phone number.

What happens if someone just happens to call the phone number?

Well, the message gets posted in Truemors, that's what:

This is an automated message from the Atherton Police Department. This message is to inform you that there have been several burglaries along the El Camino Real Corridor. These crimes occur between dusk and dawn at residences on both East and West side of El Camino Real, between Atherton Avenue and Selby Lane. Please remember to lock the doors and windows and remember to utilize your burglary alarm system. Please report any suspicious activity to the Atherton Police Department. Thank you.

I'd much rather see that kind of post than the post about a wonderful refinance opportunity.

And just wait until political season and all the automated calls that will be happening then.
