Several people lived in a retirement community. In this particular community, the people have separate residences, but join together for meals.

When one of the people didn't show up for dinner, the next day's breakfast, or the next day's lunch, several of the other residents became concerned and contacted the administration.

They found the resident in her home, very sick. She was immediately taken to the hospital and made a full recovery.

Without the concern of the other residents, the story may have had a different ending.

This is a true story that hapepened within the last week (I've left the name of the resident out of the story), and was part of a sermon that I tweeted about earlier this morning. This thought was shared:

does church provide less fellowship than a tavern?
