But they do play better than the Los Angeles national franchise

Emerging from the rubble of Katrina, warming the hearts of the city - the story of the New Orleans Saints?

Not exactly, according to Brad Drell.

New Orleans Saints’ football practice Tuesday was delayed nearly 2 hours after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery substance on the practice field....

After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that the white substance unknown to the players was the goal line.

But the ensuing post and comments in Red Stick Rant were truly offensive.

"I think someone seriously dropped the ball on this one."

"No offense, but dropping the ball and the Saints is hardly an unusual occurence."

"'No Offense' IS a hardly an unusual occurence in this case."

For the record, the current Saints statistics include the following:

  • TOTAL OFFENSIVE YARDS 888 (Saints), 1066 (opponents)

  • TOTAL RUSHING YARDS 239 (Saints), 349 (opponents)

  • TOTAL PASSING YARDS 649 (Saints), 717 (opponents)

  • TOUCHDOWNS 5 (Saints), 13 (opponents)

1. The comments about the Saints at Red Stick Rant are not offensive; they are direct. And after 40 years of loosing teams down here, we're allowed.

2. Los Angeles has a national franchise? Who knew?
