In response, I don't know that Coakley, Menino, and the citizens of Boston reacted the way they did BECAUSE of the media. That's kinda like saying that some disturbed kid offs himself because of an Ozzy Osbourne song. But then again, wasn't "War of the Worlds" hysteria possibly caused by World War II preparations? Or maybe it was just the novelty of radio.
