Because I don't care for Harvey Levin, I prefer to cite Annika for this story (I found out about it at Annika's Journal anyway).
Rosie hasn't announced yet, but how much you wanna bet she's going to spin it as "her decision," to "pursue other interests," blah blah blah. It won't be the fact that nobody likes a bully and she's a bully.
OK, now let's turn to the Belleville News Democrat:
Rosie O'Donnell's stormy tenure on "The View" will be a short one. The opinionated host was unable to agree on a contract with ABC, and she'll leave the show in June.
Another month-plus for Rosie to express herself. I must admit, however, that when I was sitting in a hospital waiting room last Thursday, I agreed with her for the first two minutes of the show (regarding her comments about glamorizing what's-his-name of Virginia Tech fame). Of course, she then shifted to reproductive "rights" and lost me.
And, for what it's worth, O'Donnell did what she was supposed to do.
O'Donnell has helped raise the ratings for the daytime chat show invented by Barbara Walters....
Despite controversy - or maybe because of it - O'Donnell was good business for ABC, owned by the Walt Disney Co. Ratings for "The View" during February sweeps were up 15 percent in key women demographics over the same time in 2006.
Bill Carroll, an expert in the syndication market for Katz Television, said he'd be surprised if ABC didn't try hard to keep O'Donnell, given the attention she brought to the long-running show.
And in TV land, what else matters other than ratings and demographics?
